The Medical Billing Coder is responsible for maintaining the professional reimbursement program and ensuring compliance with current payment rules that affect billing and collections.
Key responsibilities include billing and computer functions such as patient and third-party billing, data entry, posting encounters, handling outstanding accounts receivable, submitting clean claims, resolving denials, responding to patient and insurance inquiries, managing patient statements and correspondence, processing payments, and supporting clinical staff with coding-related questions.
High school diploma or GED with experience in medical billing.
Certified Professional Coder (CPC, AAPC) credential.
Knowledge of third-party billing requirements, ICD codes, CPT codes, and billing practices.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented.
Bi-lingual English and Spanish is highly preferred.
FQHC and Epic experience is desirable.
