Provides expert billing and coding support for the organization to help ensure accurate reimbursement of service delivery.
Conducts coordination of benefits audits at external provider agencies.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position working Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role is remote with some in-person meeting requirements within Kent County.
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 4 years of medical billing experience, or an associate degree in Health Information Technology or a related field with 2 years of billing experience
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and database management
- Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and third-party insurance
- Ability to work with and safeguard sensitive and protected provider information and other confidential information
- Strong attention to detail
- Advanced organizational skills
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for job-related use
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and bridge language and cultural barriers
- Experience with mental illness, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders is valued
Preferred qualifications
- Certification as a biller or coder
