The Charge Capture Specialist is responsible for ensuring that billing charges are captured accurately and completely. This role identifies, analyzes, and reconciles billing errors or omissions, including reviewing and posting professional charges.
Responsibilities:
- Post all charge batches received each day that do not require additional follow-up with providers.
- Return incomplete charges to the department for correction.
- Assist with reconciliation of charges on a daily and weekly basis as needed.
- Monitor practice charge submission status to ensure timely posting of charges.
- Process mobile charges and post them to the system once reviewed for completeness.
- Maintain patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Contribute positively to the billing team.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of professional billing experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- College degree preferred.
