As a member of the Amazon One Medical Senior Health Revenue Cycle team, the Medical Coder I supports Clinical and Revenue Cycle teams by reviewing coding accuracy of claims. The role focuses on coding quality, chart review, and collaboration with Medicare Risk Operations to support positive program outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing multiple coding-related projects and delivering work to One Medical standards within required timeframes
- Staying current on CPT, ICD-10-CM coding guidelines, AHA Coding Clinic guidance, and CMS Risk Adjustment guidance
- Assigning appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and other relevant codes to office visits, procedures, and diagnoses in a production environment
- Reviewing and completing email requests in a timely manner
- Working collaboratively with the Medicare Risk Operations team to support positive outcomes
Requirements & Qualifications
- CPC certification through AAPC or CCS certification through AHIMA
- Experience performing accurate and complete chart reviews for professional fee coding
- Experience with professional fee auditing, coding, and documentation requirements
- 2+ years of medical professional fee coding experience
- Knowledge of health systems operations, reimbursement methodologies, and coding conventions is preferred
- Ability to perform accurate and complete chart reviews for professional fee and HCC Risk Adjustment is preferred
