Remote certified outpatient medical coder and denial specialist role supporting a growing healthcare organization.
The position combines outpatient pro-fee coding, internal auditing, and denial/appeals work. The successful candidate will help rebuild a billing and coding team, work independently in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a 95% accuracy standard.
Work is remote, but candidates must reside in TN, KY, IN, OH, or VA and may be asked to travel to a local state clinic for up to one week of in-person training.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Active professional coding certification required: CPC, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on pro-fee outpatient coding experience
- Must reside in TN, KY, IN, OH, or VA
- Willing and able to travel for up to one week of face-to-face training if requested
- Must be able to work Eastern Time hours during the training period
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Experience with denial management and insurance appeals preferred
- CareLogic EHR experience preferred
- Behavioral health, substance use, or mental health coding experience preferred
- CPC-A and CCA certifications are not accepted
