Requirements & Qualifications
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical coding, billing, and patient registration
- Minimum of 2 years of experience handling prior authorizations
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and surgical procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with EHR and coding software systems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and data security
Desired qualifications
- CPC or RHIT certification
- Prior pathology coding experience
- Familiarity with MiChart (Epic)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
