Inpatient coder assignment for a 26-week contract.
- Shift: Day, 5x8 hours (08:00 - 16:30)
- Location: Chicago, IL
- Assign ICD-10-CM-PCS and/or CPT-4 diagnostic and procedure codes to patient charts
- Abstract selected data items and enter them into 3M Encoder/Epic software
- Complete UHDDS data abstraction as required
- Maintain a log of work performed
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements & Qualifications
- RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS certification
- Minimum 3 years of inpatient medical record coding experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Proficiency with Windows applications, Outlook, WebEx, and similar tools
- Ability to concentrate in a private work-from-home space
- Ability to apply local, state, and federal coding guidelines with attention to detail
- Candidate must have access to an encoder
- Completion of a 90-minute assessment test (70 multiple-choice questions) is required
