Requirements & Qualifications
Core qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- CPC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT certification, or specialty coding experience
- 1 to 3 years of experience directly related to coding and reimbursement for physician services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding
- Understanding of third-party fee profiles and reimbursement requirements
- Familiarity with current medical coding issues, trends, and compliance requirements
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data and recommend solutions
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
Preferred
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Experience with IDX
