- Work hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with some flexibility after training/orientation

In this role, you will review inpatient health records, assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and MS-DRG classifications, abstract clinical data elements, and collaborate with physicians and clinical documentation staff to ensure accurate, compliant coding for complex inpatient cases.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion or training in an ICD-10-CM/PCS coding program required
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, or another healthcare-related field preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, or another healthcare-related field preferred
- 3 years of inpatient coding experience in a large, complex acute healthcare setting required
- One of the following certifications required upon hire: CCS, CIC, RHIT, or RHIA
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding guidelines and coding conventions
- Experience with encoder software and computer-assisted coding tools
- Ability to analyze documentation, resolve coding issues, and query physicians clearly and professionally
- Strong oral and written communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to mentor and support less experienced coders
