Summit Medical Group is recruiting for a Charge Coding Coordinator to ensure charges are entered accurately, errors are addressed in a timely manner, and reports are completed. This is a full-time opportunity.
The role involves posting patient charges to the billing system, correcting billing information as needed, reviewing charges for high-risk coding, maintaining knowledge of carrier-specific coding requirements and edits, and supporting quality improvement activities. The coordinator also cross-trains staff in charge entry functions and maintains strict confidentiality.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma required.
Experience
- Preferred: one year of coding experience in a medical office setting or an associate degree in health information.
Certification
- Billing and Coding certification required.
- Accepted credentials include AAPC (CPC, CRC), AHIMA (CCA, CCS), and NHA (CBCS).
