This role performs complex inpatient diagnostic and procedural coding. You will review and analyze the medical record to accurately assign the responsible attending physician and clinical service in accordance with coding guidelines. The position is full time, day shift, and requires weekend coverage.
This is an on-site role, and employees are expected to live within commuting distance of NewYork-Presbyterian.
Preferred
- CCS, RHIA, or RHIT certification
- Hospital coding experience
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- College-level coursework or equivalent knowledge in anatomy and physiology and medical terminology
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated complex diagnostic and procedural inpatient coding experience in a computerized/electronic environment
- Documented advanced coursework in ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS
