This position is responsible for coding and entering procedures, infusion, pathology, and professional charges into the EMR for US Digestive Health.
The role includes reviewing physician documentation, assigning CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes, entering charges into the practice management system, researching claim edits and holds related to coding issues, and assisting coworkers and patients with coding and billing questions.
The position also supports clinical quality measures, documentation requirements, and daily departmental correspondence in a professional office environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- Coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA preferred
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in physician coding
- Knowledge of outpatient CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical billing, and documentation requirements
- Strong organizational and computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
