Are you an experienced inpatient facility coder looking for a remote opportunity with flexibility and exposure to complex, high-acuity cases? Join a growing healthcare organization coding a diverse mix of inpatient encounters, including trauma, transplant, surgical, OB, and pediatric cases.
This is a 100% remote, contract-to-hire opportunity supporting one of the nation’s largest healthcare systems. After training, you can work an 8-hour day within operating hours of 5:00 AM–11:30 PM EST, and split shifts are permitted.
You will review inpatient medical records, assign diagnosis and procedure codes, validate DRG assignments, submit physician queries, review coding edits and audit findings, and help maintain coding quality and productivity standards.
Required
- Minimum 3 years of inpatient facility coding experience
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding guidelines, DRG assignment, and inpatient reimbursement methodologies
- Experience working in a production-based coding environment with quality and productivity metrics
- Experience using Epic or other EMR systems
- Ability to work independently and manage productivity in a remote environment
Preferred Certifications
- CCS
- RHIT
- RHIA
- CCA
- CPC or CIC may be considered with strong inpatient facility coding experience
