Children's Wisconsin is a nationally recognized health system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children. The organization provides primary care, specialty care, urgent care, emergency care, community health services, foster and adoption services, child and family counseling, child advocacy services, and family resource centers.
This role is responsible for fully abstracting, coding, and releasing inpatient initial, subsequent, discharge, consult services, and bedside procedures across multiple specialties to ensure accurate coding, billing compliance, and complete charge capture. The specialist will also collaborate with providers and departmental staff and leaders on coding and charge capture questions and topics.
- 100% remote
- Full-time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
- 3 years of surgical coding experience in a healthcare role
- Coding certification: CPC, CCS, CCS-P, or RHIT
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines
- Working knowledge of CCI edits, healthcare insurance guidelines, and other regulatory guidance
- Specialty coding knowledge
- Pro-fee coding preferred
- Epic experience preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently, exercise independent judgment, and solve problems effectively
- High school diploma, GED, or HSED required
