Dental Patient Coordinator

The Patient Coordinator supports front-office operations by maintaining efficient scheduling, coordinating patient appointments, verifying insurance, processing payments, and ensuring accurate patient data for billing and reporting. This is a non-clinical role focused on delivering a positive patient experience while supporting office workflow and administrative needs.

Key Competencies

  • Greet and assist patients professionally to ensure a positive front-office experience
  • Check in patients and verify information in patient management software
  • Collect co-payments and check out patients
  • Run and process applicable reports
  • Monitor office emails
  • Use RevenueWell for confirmations, patient communication, and insurance requests
  • Handle insurance verification and pre-authorizations
  • Close out daily registers and ensure balances are accurate
  • Complete next-day router preparation
  • Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Schedule patients and help fill same-day or next-day openings as needed
  • Monitor and respond to office voicemails
  • Support the Office Manager with end-of-day processes
  • Escalate issues to the Office Manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Reliable attendance for office opening and scheduled business hours
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule occasionally based on business needs
  • Ability to pass background screening consistent with applicable law and business needs
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to balance registers accurately
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ethical conduct and confidentiality
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong computer and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients and team members in person and by phone
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Dental or medical front desk experience preferred
