HealthMark Group is hiring an onsite Medical Records Processing Specialist to support release of information (ROI) operations at its Johnstown, PA client location.
The role is focused on processing incoming medical records requests, validating authorizations, maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance, and providing timely status updates to patients, requestors, and clients. This position is part of a fast-growing healthcare technology company supporting administrative workflows for healthcare providers.
Requirements & Qualifications
Responsibilities
- Complete incoming ROI requests in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintain 100% ROI accuracy
- Complete STAT requests within 1 hour and other ROI requests within 24 hours
- Keep queues current
- Validate requests and authorize release of PHI according to established procedures
- Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and proper invoicing
- Maintain confidentiality, security, and ethical standards for medical records information
- Complete legal affidavits and related questions as needed
- Scan ROI requests into the chart
- Follow HealthMark and client-specific ROI policies
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and professional work area
- Update facility guides as needed
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with customers
- Assist clients, patients, and requestors with request status by phone
