HealthMark Group is hiring an onsite Medical Records Processing Specialist to support release of information (ROI) operations. This entry-level role focuses on processing medical records requests accurately and efficiently while maintaining HIPAA compliance and strong customer service. The position is based in Lawrenceburg, TN, with the ability to work primarily remotely and provide onsite coverage when needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Complete incoming ROI requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain 100% ROI accuracy.
- Complete STAT requests within one hour and maintain a 24-hour turnaround time for other requests.
- Keep all queues current.
- Validate requests and authorize release of PHI according to established procedures.
- Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and proper invoicing.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of medical records and PHI.
- Complete legal affidavits and related questions as needed.
- Scan ROI requests into charts.
- Follow ROI policies for both HealthMark and client facilities.
- Maintain a professional appearance and organized work area.
- Update facility guides as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients, patients, and requestors.
- Help de-escalate patient complaints when needed.
