Position Overview
Responsible for clerical and administrative services related to greeting, registering, and admitting patients in a healthcare facility, as well as helping schedule patient appointments.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete pre-registration for new clients and schedule appointments
- Provide orientation for new patients and monitor patient activity on center premises
- Serve as a point of contact for patient inquiries and provide customer service
- Collect co-payments and patient financial responsibility at the time of service
- Ensure demographics, billing, and clinical information are entered accurately and on time
- Communicate with the Program Director, physicians, and nursing staff regarding intakes
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain prior authorization when needed
- Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing mail, maintaining and ordering supplies, and verifying deliveries
- Maintain confidentiality and support smooth clinic operations
Environment
- Non-exempt, full-time clinic-based role
- Reports to the Program Director
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong customer service background
- Knowledge of electronic health record systems and medical insurance
- Minimum 1 year of receptionist, cashier, or related experience
- Minimum 1 year of healthcare experience
- Insurance verification experience is required
- Ability to read, write legibly, and comprehend written and spoken communication
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new software programs
- Strong communication, analytical, detail-oriented, and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with diverse patient and staff populations
