Patient Registration Coordinator

New Season

Responsible for clerical and administrative services related to greeting, registering, and admitting patients in a healthcare facility. Also coordinates patient appointment scheduling and supports intake operations for an outpatient treatment center serving individuals with opioid use disorder.

Key responsibilities include pre-registration, patient orientation, monitoring patient activities on center premises, collecting co-payments and patient financial responsibility, maintaining accurate registration data, communicating with clinical staff regarding intakes, verifying insurance benefits, obtaining prior authorization when needed, and performing general administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing mail, and maintaining office supplies.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of receptionist, cashier, or related experience
  • Minimum 1 year of healthcare experience

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong customer service background
  • Knowledge of electronic health record systems
  • Knowledge of medical insurance and insurance verification
  • Ability to learn new software programs
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to read, write legibly, and comprehend written and spoken instructions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to interpret documents and present information effectively

Job/State Requirements

  • Insurance verification is required
  • Healthcare office experience is ideal
