Medical Laboratory Technician

As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will be an essential part of the clinical team, providing reliable testing that helps providers diagnose conditions, guide treatment decisions, and deliver the best possible care. This role offers hands-on work, a strong focus on accuracy, and broad experience across multiple laboratory areas.

Working under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager or Director, you will perform routine and specialized testing while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

You will:

  • Perform clinical laboratory testing in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation, immunology, microbiology, and blood bank
  • Prepare and process specimens while ensuring proper identification, handling, storage, and integrity
  • Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Review and validate test results, recognizing discrepancies and unexpected findings
  • Accurately document results in the Laboratory Information System
  • Promptly communicate critical or urgent results to providers, nurses, and other clinical team members
  • Participate in quality control, proficiency testing, and continuous quality-improvement activities
  • Follow CLIA, CAP, OSHA, infection-control, and laboratory safety requirements
  • Help maintain inventory levels and ensure supplies are properly stocked
  • Participate in continuing education and training to strengthen your skills and remain current with laboratory practices
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent from an accredited program
  • Completion of a NAACLS-accredited MLT program
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent)
  • Current state licensure, if applicable
  • One year of clinical laboratory experience in a hospital or outpatient lab preferred
  • Two years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Familiarity with CLIA regulations and CAP accreditation standards preferred
