The position requires daily productivity, high accuracy, and extensive use of electronic medical records in an ICD-10 environment. You will review provider inquiries, code professional and facility claims, audit medical records, abstract diagnosis and procedure codes, and document requested information from medical records.
This is a full-time role with scheduled weekday hours and paid training. Employees may telecommute from anywhere within the U.S., provided telecommuting requirements are met.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active coding certification: CPC, CPC-A, COC, CCS, CCS-P, CCA, RHIA, or RHIT
- 1+ years of medical coding experience with CPT
- 1+ years of medical coding experience with ICD-10
Preferred Qualifications
- AAPC credentials
- 1+ years of facility-based coding experience
- 1+ years of managed care experience
- Pharmacology knowledge
Telecommuting Requirements
- Dedicated work area separated from other living areas
- Ability to keep company-sensitive documents secure
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or use existing high-speed internet
