Full-time remote inpatient medical coding role supporting a Veteran Affairs health care system coding program.
Responsibilities include coding outpatient visits, surgical procedures, and inpatient discharges as needed using approved encoder systems and VA record platforms. The coder must follow HIPAA, VA privacy and security requirements, maintain high audit accuracy, and support multiple coding types when needed, including outpatient, inpatient facility, professional, and surgical coding.
The role operates on a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM CST.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of inpatient coding experience
- At least 6 months of VA or other relevant coding experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs
- U.S. citizenship
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Ability to work full-time and maintain a consistent Monday through Friday schedule
