Position Summary

Ultimate Health Plans is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused, and highly skilled Endocrinologist to join their growing healthcare team. The role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with disorders of the endocrine system, including diabetes, thyroid disease, metabolic disorders, osteoporosis, adrenal disorders, pituitary conditions, and other hormone-related illnesses.

The endocrinologist will deliver high-quality, evidence-based care while collaborating with primary care providers and specialists to improve patient outcomes and promote overall wellness.

Key Duties

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders.
  • Manage patients with diabetes mellitus, including insulin management, medication adjustments, and patient education.
  • Diagnose and treat thyroid disorders, including hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, and thyroid cancer follow-up care.
  • Evaluate and manage adrenal, pituitary, parathyroid, and reproductive endocrine disorders.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments, laboratory findings, and diagnostic studies.
  • Order, interpret, and analyze laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical performance programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and organizational regulations, including HIPAA requirements.
  • Provide compassionate, culturally competent care to diverse patient populations.
  • Participate in call coverage and other clinical duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education and Training

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program.
  • Completion of an accredited Endocrinology Fellowship Program.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.
  • Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain a Florida medical license prior to employment.
  • Current DEA registration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience treating patients within a value-based care or managed care environment.
  • Experience managing complex diabetes populations.
  • Familiarity with continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems and insulin pump therapy.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong clinical knowledge of endocrine, metabolic, and hormonal disorders.
  • Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to interpret laboratory and diagnostic data accurately.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with patients, families, providers, and staff.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
