IKS Health is seeking an experienced Profee Cardiology medical coder to provide coding and abstracting services for outpatient, physician, and emergency room medical records.
In this role, you will review medical records, assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and related coding systems, and support coding education across the team. You may also serve as a coding leader and mentor for training coders and new hires.
Requirements & Qualifications
- CPC certification required
- Experience with Epic / 3M 360
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Minimum of 3 years of professional fee cardiac coding experience
- Ability to code clinic E&M and CPT codes
- Knowledge of echocardiograms, remote monitoring, and EKGs
- Bonus experience with observation and inpatient charts
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology, and disease processes
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding principles and guidelines
- Familiarity with reimbursement systems and federal, state, and payer-specific regulations and policies
- Must pass a coding proficiency test
