UPMC Corporate Revenue Cycle is hiring a Coder II for its Coding Department.
This is a work-from-home position working Monday through Friday during business hours. The role focuses on outpatient coding, including CCI/NCCI edit review, ICD-10-CM and CPT code assignment, diagnosis and procedure coding, and charge review for injections, infusions, and hydration services.
The coder will review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensure appropriate reimbursement, maintain productivity and accuracy standards, participate in coding meetings, and communicate with physicians when documentation clarification is needed.
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of hospital coding experience
- Completion of an AHIMA- or AACP-certified coding program, Bidwell Training School, or equivalent program
- Coursework in anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, medical terminology, ICD-10-CM, and CPT coding guidelines and procedures
Preferred / other qualifications
- Eligible for RHIA, RHIT, or CCS
- Outpatient coding experience
- Familiarity with hospital information systems, encoders, and electronic medical record repositories
- Ability to meet coding accuracy and productivity standards
