UC San Diego Health is seeking a Pathology Coder III to support its Revenue Cycle department. This role performs in-depth daily review of outpatient CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes and charges to identify and resolve coding errors and claim edits.
The position involves interpreting handwritten and typed notes and diagnoses and converting them into accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes. The role is based in a high-performing, patient-focused academic health system and may be performed remotely.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
- At least 3 years of coding experience, including anatomical pathology and lab CPT and diagnosis coding
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding applications
