We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Lead Coder to oversee medical coding operations within our healthcare organization. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely coding, claim submission, compliance with billing regulations, and optimization of revenue cycle processes.
The Lead Coder will work closely with clinical staff and billing teams to support documentation accuracy, improve reimbursement, and maintain adherence to Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of medical coding standards and healthcare billing regulations
- 4+ years of medical coding experience
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required
- Strong understanding of ICD coding
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer rules
- Experience with EHR systems and billing software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong team leadership, training, and motivation skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
