Remote position within UC San Diego Health's Health Information Management department.
This role supports revenue cycle operations by performing inpatient coding across a wide range of surgical and medical specialties, including academic institution coding, burns, transplants, cardiology, pulmonology, neuro, orthopedic, and spine procedures.
The position is a career appointment with a full-time schedule of days, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. Candidates hired into this role may have the ability to work remotely.
Must hold a valid AHIMA credential: RHIA, RHIT, or CCS.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in inpatient and/or observation coding and charging within an acute care setting.
Experience with inpatient and/or observation coding and charging.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Inpatient coding experience
- Proficiency with computers and computer systems
- Experience with Epic and 3M 360 CAC
- Trauma Level I experience
- Academic facility coding experience
- 3 to 5 years of coding experience with knowledge of inpatient, outpatient, surgery, and emergency room records
- RHIT, RHIA, or CCS credential
Annual full pay range: $105,528 - $131,210.
