Medical Coder specializing in inpatient and outpatient multi-specialty coding support for a federal healthcare facility.
- Review provider medical records for completeness and accuracy.
- Code inpatient and outpatient encounters, including facility procedure coding.
- Support backlog coding for affiliated outpatient clinics.
- Use government-approved remote/offsite access via VPN.
- Communicate provider queries securely and track query resolution timelines.
- Maintain coding accuracy and productivity standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 consecutive years of continuous coding experience at a facility with comparable patient volume.
- One or more of the following certifications: RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, or CPC.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, E/M level coding, and HCPCS.
- Experience with Oracle Cerner and 3M/Solventum applications.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Central Time.
- English proficiency, spoken and written.
- Ability to maintain 95% coding accuracy and meet productivity standards.
- Must be able to complete credentialing and onboarding within 6-8 weeks.
