This position is a hybrid Medical Coder II role responsible for accurately reviewing, analyzing, and coding diagnostic and procedural information from medical records using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems. The role supports reimbursement processes through precise, compliant coding and helps ensure adherence to official coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
High school diploma or GED required.
Must have one or more of the following credentials:
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
- Equivalent certification from an accredited body such as AAPC or AHIMA
Experience:
- 2-4 years of medical coding experience in a physician group or healthcare clinic setting
- Proficiency in outpatient coding
Knowledge and skills:
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and medical terminology
- Familiarity with EHR systems and coding/billing software such as eClinicalWorks
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Physical requirements:
- Ability to lift/carry up to 10 lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
