As an Evaluation & Management Medical Coder, you will provide coding and coding auditing services directly to providers. This role involves analyzing and translating medical and clinical diagnoses, procedures, injuries, or illnesses into designated numerical codes.
The position is full-time with normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM CST and may require occasional overtime based on business needs. Paid training is provided and will be conducted virtually from home.
This role offers telecommute flexibility from anywhere within the U.S.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Professional coder certification (CPC, COC, CPC-P, CCS) with annual maintenance through AHIMA and/or AAPC
- Medical coding or auditing experience within the past year
- 2+ years of E&M (Evaluation & Management) medical coding experience
- 2+ years of experience interacting with physicians in a medical setting, such as medical coding, medical billing, or claims processing
- 2+ years of high-volume telephonic experience
- 2+ years of experience working with EMR (Electronic Medical Record)
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work any shift between 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM CST, including occasional overtime
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of outpatient facility coding experience
- Experience with encoder systems such as eCAC, 3M, or EPIC
