Facility Inpatient Multispecialty Coder
Remote | Part-Time | Salary Range: $35.00 - $38.00 per hour
Work remotely and support healthcare organizations nationwide by coding complex inpatient hospital records accurately and efficiently.
The role involves ensuring accurate coding, regulatory compliance, and appropriate reimbursement for inpatient hospital services. It also supports revenue integrity, reduces audit and compliance risk, and contributes to reliable clinical data for patient care and operational decision-making.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Current RHIT, CCS, or CIC credential
- AHIMA ICD-10-CM/PCS knowledge
- Minimum of 5 years of experience abstracting ICD-10-CM/PCS, POA indicators, APR-DRG, MS-DRG, CPT, modifiers, and APC assignment
- High-level coding expertise in IPPS and/or OPPS
- Advanced technical knowledge in assigned surgical and medical specialties
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and ability to research coding-related questions
- Experience entering codes into a database and/or software tool
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and EMR systems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to meet productivity standards and maintain at least 95% accuracy on quality reviews
- Ability to comply with HIPAA and applicable federal and state coding regulations
