We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Coder and Biller to join a healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately coding medical records, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and managing billing processes to support revenue cycle management. The position focuses on improving claim processing, maintaining accurate medical records, and supporting efficient financial operations in a healthcare environment.
Duties
- Review and interpret medical records and clinical documentation to assign appropriate ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, and DRG codes.
- Ensure accurate coding for inpatient and outpatient services, including complex procedures and diagnoses.
- Prepare and submit insurance claims using billing software and EHR systems.
- Verify patient insurance coverage, process third-party billing, and follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
- Maintain comprehensive medical records and documentation for audit readiness and privacy compliance.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve documentation discrepancies or incomplete records.
- Stay current with updates to coding guidelines, including ICD-10/ICD-9, CPT, and DRG classifications.

Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical coding and billing within a healthcare setting, preferably in hospital or clinic environments.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT coding, DRG classification, and medical terminology.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for electronic health record management.
- Experience with medical collections and health insurance claim processing is highly desirable.
- Understanding of revenue cycle management and third-party insurance billing procedures.
- Ability to interpret medical records accurately while adhering to coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
