BayCare is seeking a Specialty Coder II to join its team in a full-time remote role. This position supports physician coding operations by assigning diagnosis and procedural codes and auditing documentation to ensure accurate coding for anesthesia and related surgical services.
The role also provides mentorship and training to other coders and serves as a departmental resource.
Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Remote location requirement: Must reside in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based (CCS-P)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree preferred
- 2 years of coding experience required
- 1 year of medical office-related experience required
- Experience with ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding systems
- Background in anesthesia coding and billing preferred
- Preferred coding specialties:
- Anesthesia
- General Surgery
- Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Neurosurgery
- Pediatric / Preemie Surgery
