Join a dynamic and growing clinic as a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist. In this role, you will help ensure accurate coding, efficient billing processes, timely claims submission, and effective revenue cycle support. Your work will directly impact billing accuracy, compliance, and the financial performance of the practice.
You will be responsible for coding clinical visits and diagnoses, managing insurance claims, following up on unpaid or denied claims, posting payments and adjustments, preparing patient statements, and supporting accounts receivable activities. This is an on-site, part-time position with flexible scheduling.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least 5 years of medical billing experience
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, and DRG coding systems
- Experience with inpatient and outpatient coding
- Familiarity with medical records, physician notes, and coding guidelines
- Experience using billing software and EMR/EHR systems
- Knowledge of insurance claim processing, ERAs, denials, and accounts receivable
- Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare privacy requirements
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Professional billing or coding certification preferred, such as CPB or CPC
