Professional Services Coders — 2 positions available:
- Anesthesia Coder: experience in anesthesia coding, strong understanding of anesthesia coding guidelines, documentation requirements, CPT coding, time-based reporting, and applicable modifiers.
- Interventional Radiology Coder: experience in interventional radiology and/or interventional procedural coding, strong understanding of applicable CPT codes, modifiers, documentation requirements, and coding guidelines.
The Certified Coder will provide coding and abstracting services necessary for accurate medical information and administrative statistical reports. This role supports appropriate fiscal reimbursement and compliance with Federal Regulatory, Intermediary, PRO, and other reviewing organizational requirements.
CarolinaEast Health System is a 350-bed, full-service medical center serving patients across eastern North Carolina.
Minimum qualifications
- CPC preferred; RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS also accepted
- Credential eligible or equivalent coursework in Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Medical Office Practice
- Or 3 to 5 years of experience in ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS coding
- Knowledge of coding rules and guidelines, Coding Clinic, and CPT Assistant
- Computer data entry required
- Strong customer service skills aligned with CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence
