Seeking a highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to support a busy medical practice. This role focuses on high-volume billing, accurate medical coding, claim submission, insurance communication, and timely reimbursement while maintaining compliance with payer and regulatory guidelines.
The position begins part-time and in person, with potential growth into a full-time role with increased flexibility.
Responsibilities include managing the full revenue cycle workflow, resolving billing issues, posting payments, following up on claims, and assisting with administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Experience submitting insurance claims, posting payments, managing denials, and following up on accounts receivable.
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, workers' compensation, and payer-specific billing requirements.
- Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems, billing software, clearinghouses, and revenue cycle management systems.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with providers and office staff.
- Preferred certifications: CPC, CCS, CCA, CPB, or equivalent.
- Spanish language skills required.
