Experienced full-time Medical Biller/Coder needed for a fast-paced OB-GYN clinic near Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland.
The role supports comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care at Center for Women’s Health and focuses on accurate coding, billing support, claim follow-up, and patient/staff communication.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing charges to ensure ICD-10 and CPT codes are accurate and complete for claim submission
- Interpreting operative reports and charge documents for in-office procedures, hospital surgeries, and triage services
- Maintaining awareness of coding requirements, government regulations, and payer rules
- Researching unpaid and denied claims to support correction and reimbursement
- Assisting with insurance verification, report creation, patient estimates, collections, and payment posting
- Providing real-time billing support to clinical staff, office staff, and patients
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a medical coder with clinical billing knowledge
- Experience coding for OB-GYN preferred
- Familiarity with Athena EMR software is a plus
- High school diploma or GED required
- Medical coding certification and/or college degree preferred
- Experience with CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Understanding of revenue cycle functions including admissions, billing, payments, and denials
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
- Strong communication, customer service, organization, and multitasking skills
