Part-time medical billing and coding role focused on CPT coding and follow-up on unpaid medical claims. This position supports a locally owned medical billing company serving physicians and physician groups, primarily pathologists and anesthesiologists.
Key responsibilities include contacting insurance companies, checking claim receipt and payment status, filing appeals, correcting and resubmitting denied claims, reviewing error reports, and entering patient demographic and charge data. After training, there may be an opportunity to work from home one day per week.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- CPC or CPC-A certification required
- Four-year college degree preferred and/or 2 years of coding experience preferred
- Strong computer skills are a plus
- Intelligent, fast learner with a strong work ethic and desire to grow
- Ability to work within an office schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
