Harrison County Hospital is seeking a certified medical coder (CCS) to work full-time, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
The coder reports directly to the HIM Director and is responsible for assigning ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes as well as CPT procedure codes for billing and classification of medical records for inpatient and outpatient charts.
This role supports accurate medical record coding and compliance within the hospital's revenue cycle and health information management operations.
Must have a high school education.
Must have excellent ICD-10-CM, CPT, and CCS coding skills.
Must have detailed knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy/physiology.
Must have detailed knowledge of third-party reimbursement rules and regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid.
Must be able to speak and understand English fluently.
Must be able to speak and understand medical terminology.
One year of coding work experience in a hospital or physician setting is preferred.
Preferred credentials include Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Accredited Record Technician (ART), or Registered Records Administrator (RRA).
Must comply with the Corporate Compliance Program.
