Coding Educator and Auditor

Consulting Radiologists, Ltd

Full-time, benefit-eligible remote position responsible for conducting comprehensive documentation audits to validate the integrity of ICD-10-CM diagnoses, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, and professional E/M codes.

The role reviews medical records and code assignments to validate consistency with applicable laws, regulations, coding standards, and billing standards. Audit results are analyzed to identify trends and patterns, and findings are communicated along with education to the appropriate audience.

This position also supports the manager in improving the overall quality and completeness of provider clinical documentation to ensure medical necessity, correct coding, compliance, and appropriate reimbursement. The role serves as a coding liaison with CRL providers, Business Office Operations, and other enterprise teams.

Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or Associate of Applied Science degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field.

Medical coding credential required: CCS-P, CCS, or CPC.

RCC preferred.

CIRCC preferred.

Minimum 5 years of coding experience in radiology required; candidates without radiology coding experience will not be considered.

Working knowledge of documentation and coding compliance guidelines, including coding, billing, medical documentation, fraud, abuse, and penalties for violations.

Strong communication skills with the ability to work professionally with all levels of an organization.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding business operations, physicians, employees, patients, and customers.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately.

Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Experience with computer-aided coding software; 3M preferred.

Must be able to work successfully in a remote environment.

Must have a secluded, secure office area and reliable high-speed internet access.
