Optum is seeking an Acute Facility CVIR Medical Coder to join its team supporting outpatient acute interventional radiology services. In this role, you will review medical records, assign accurate CPT and ICD-10 codes, apply coding guidelines, support documentation quality, and help ensure compliance and coding accuracy.
This position offers telecommuting flexibility from anywhere within the U.S. and includes opportunities to contribute to a mission focused on improving health outcomes through technology, data, and care optimization.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Professional coder certification maintained annually through AHIMA and/or AAPC (such as CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC-H/COC, CIC, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-A)
- 2+ years of outpatient facility interventional radiology coding experience
- 2+ years of ICD-10 experience
- Ability to use a PC in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Excel and EMR systems
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, 5 days per week, with occasional overtime as needed
- Must have a dedicated private workspace and secure handling of sensitive documents
- Must live in a location with access to UHG-approved high-speed internet
