Abstract medical record data into Epic and 3M 360 to create detailed case summaries of medical, demographic, and statistical information.
Code diagnoses and procedures according to ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 guidelines, including department-specific modifications. Determine primary and secondary diagnoses and procedures, and follow government and payer requirements for coded data completion, including APC assignments.
Facility-specific work includes coding SDS, Observation, and as needed ED, Diagnostic, and Ancillary records.
Professional fee work includes coding Surgical Records, Evaluation & Management encounters, ED encounters with E&M, and as needed Diagnostic, Documentation Quality Assurance, and Ancillary records.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of outpatient multidisciplinary coding or provider E&M level of service coding experience.
One coding certification is required. Accepted certifications include:
- CPC
- COC
- CPC-P
- CRC
- CIC
- CCS
- RHIT
- RHIA
No license required.
