Home Health Coder II

Corpus Christi Medical Center

As a Home Health Coder II, you will review and code home health and hospice documentation using clinical notes such as H&P, discharge summaries, progress notes, and face-to-face notes. You will document coding recommendations and OASIS edits, collaborate with team leads and denials staff to resolve coding issues, and help support the Home Health and Hospice & Family Care team by promoting quality service and customer satisfaction.

You will also maintain accurate and timely review of OASIS time points and related interdisciplinary documentation in the EMR to support timely OASIS locks and submission to CMS. In addition, you will work with quality support and team leadership on SHP alerts and reports to help improve outcomes, adverse events, and utilization results.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Home Health coding experience required • Minimum 2 years of professional fee coding experience required • At least 1 year of experience coding applicable specialties for Home Health and Hospice required • Relevant education may substitute for experience requirement • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology preferred • Knowledge of pathophysiology preferred • Coding certification required • OASIS certification preferred but not required
