The City of Sioux Falls Health Department is accepting applications for part-time positions at Falls Community Health, working up to 28 hours per week, Monday through Friday, based on clinic needs.
The role may include one or both of the following functions:
- Part Time Coding Technician
- Part Time Billing Specialist
The coding technician reviews medical records and electronic coding to ensure documentation accurately reflects patient visits and services rendered. This position helps ensure compliance with coding regulations, provides technical guidance to medical providers and department staff, and reviews Medicaid, Medicare, hospital charges, and third-party insurance claims before submission.
The billing specialist processes insurance claims, maintains accurate patient billing records, and supports timely reimbursement in a fast-paced community healthcare environment. The role communicates professionally with patients, insurance providers, and internal teams to resolve billing inquiries and support a positive patient experience.
Additional billing office duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications and skills include:
- Detail-oriented

- Must pass the City's background check and drug screening
