Join our team as a day shift, full-time Senior Certified Coder at INTEGRIS Health in Oklahoma City, OK.

The Senior Certified Coder analyzes complex clinical and demographic information to assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT/HCPCS codes across outpatient, surgical, and inpatient encounters. This role supports accurate DRG assignment, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and serves as a resource for coding guidance across multiple care settings.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coding outpatient, surgical, and inpatient encounters, including ICD-10-PCS and CPT procedure coding
  • Assigning and validating MS-DRGs and/or APCs
  • Ensuring appropriate severity of illness and risk of mortality capture
  • Reviewing complex documentation, performing queries, and resolving discrepancies and complex coding edits
  • Managing multiple work queues while maintaining coding accuracy and productivity
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to coding staff
  • Collaborating with CDI and providers to ensure alignment of documentation and coding
  • Communicating coding decisions and documentation needs clearly to stakeholders
  • Independently resolving complex coding issues using advanced coding knowledge and available resources
  • Identifying workflow improvements to enhance coding accuracy and productivity
  • Ensuring coding outcomes support reimbursement, reporting, and compliance
  • Applying updated coding practices to improve consistency and performance
Requirements & Qualifications
  • 1 year of coding experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One of the following certifications:
    • AHIMA-RHIA
    • AHIMA-RHIT
    • AHIMA-CCS
    • AAPC-CPC
    • AAPC-CIC
    • AAPC-COC
  • Ability to apply ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT/HCPCS coding across outpatient, surgical, and inpatient encounters
  • Knowledge of coding guidelines and DRG/APC logic
  • Ability to review complex documentation and resolve routine and advanced coding edits
  • Ability to manage multiple work queues
  • Ability to independently interpret clinical documentation to support coding accuracy and consistency
