HIM Coder - Full Time On Site
Mesquite Rehabilitation Institute in Mesquite, Texas is a leading inpatient rehabilitation hospital serving the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The facility provides personalized, intensive rehabilitation care for patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic surgeries.
The institute is seeking a coder to join a patient care team dedicated to supporting high-quality rehabilitative services and accurate reimbursement coding.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Two years of medical coding experience in ICD-9/ICD-10 preferred
- Medical coding certification preferred
- Current knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding principles
- Knowledge of government regulations, protocols, and third-party payer requirements related to coding and billing
- Knowledge of government prospective payment system guidelines preferred
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- General computer skills, including data entry, word processing, email, and record management
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain quality and safety standards
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work closely and professionally with others
