Baptist Health is hiring a full-time Inpatient Hospital Coder for the Appeals & Denials Department at Baptist Metro Square.
This role focuses on inpatient coding accuracy, coding quality, and claim support for discharged accounts. The position is remote for candidates who live in approved states.
Requirements & Qualifications
High School Diploma required.
Required credentials:
- RHIT (AHIMA)
- RHIA (AHIMA)
- CCS (AHIMA)
Experience required:
- 3–5 years of experience in an acute care setting
- 3–5 years of coding knowledge
- Experience working in an acute care setting
Other requirements:
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding
- Knowledge of CPT coding and edit resolution on observation accounts when applicable
- Ability to use a computerized encoder and EHR
- Strong critical thinking, communication, judgment, time management, and attention to detail
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to reside in an approved state: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, or Wyoming
