Healthcare Coding and Consulting Services (HCCS) is seeking an experienced Inpatient Facility Coder with extensive Level I Trauma and DRG Validation experience to join its growing team.
This is a fully remote, full-time opportunity for a coding professional who thrives in a Trauma Level I hospital environment and is looking for long-term career stability with a family-owned company.
HCCS is a U.S.-based, direct-hire W-2 employer that keeps all coding operations within the United States and provides year-round coding work.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Current AHIMA or AAPC coding certification required; CCS strongly preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of recent inpatient facility coding experience in a Level I Trauma hospital setting
- Extensive Level I Trauma coding experience
- Strong DRG validation experience, including identification of documentation and coding opportunities impacting MS-DRG assignment and reimbursement
- Expert knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, MS-DRGs, and Official Coding Guidelines
- Experience coding highly complex inpatient cases, including trauma, critical care, surgical, and medically complex encounters
- Strong understanding of Medicare inpatient reimbursement methodologies and DRG assignment
- Ability to maintain high coding accuracy while meeting productivity expectations
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and documentation review skills
- Must reside in the United States
- This is an inpatient facility coding role, not a pro fee (E/M) coding position
