Alteva RCM is seeking a Medical Coding Manager to provide direct operational and people leadership for a team of coders supporting assigned specialties. This role is responsible for daily performance, accuracy, productivity, escalation management, audit oversight, and collaboration with Billing, Clinical, and Compliance teams to support clean claim submission and revenue integrity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead, coach, and develop assigned team members.
- Allocate work based on complexity, volume, specialty, and capacity.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex coding, documentation, and payer-related issues.
- Oversee day-to-day coding operations and ensure timely completion of encounters.
- Monitor backlog, KPIs, audit findings, and corrective actions.
- Partner cross-functionally to improve documentation, reduce denials, and support revenue cycle performance.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required qualifications and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3-6 years of experience in revenue cycle management, including physician collections, A/R follow-up, and denial management.
- 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong understanding of billing, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and payer guidelines.
- Proven ability to improve revenue performance and operational outcomes.
- Experience managing client relationships in a healthcare or revenue cycle environment.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
